The Medford Cruise is about cars, good times, and good people.
The mission of the Medford Cruise is to support the car culture of Southern Oregon to the benefit of kids.
A Southern Oregon standard since 1986, the Cruise has grown to include events for all ages and all tastes. Many Cruise events are free, and the events that do cost money are set at affordable prices, with proceeds benefiting local youth organizations. The Medford Cruise is a culmination of the hard work and dedication of countless supporters, sponsors, and volunteers.
The Medford Cruise Association, a volunteer committee, would like to thank the City of Medford, including the Public Safety, Public Works and Parks & Recreation staff, Greater Medford Rotary, Boys and Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley, and Boy Scouts Troop 5.
The week is filled with wonderful activities, events, and the nicest cars you could possibly see driving the streets of Medford. It’s one of Southern Oregon’s can’t-miss events, and it keeps getting better every year.
Cruise History
In 1985, local car enthusiasts had what they thought was a simple idea: Get all the car clubs together and cruise downtown Medford. Well, it turns out, it wasn’t so simple. Permits were required; a detailed cruise plan had to be formed, and streets had to be blocked with rented signs. Street cleanup was needed, and many more details had to be addressed.
Luckily, the wheels kept turning. The Cruise happened, and it was quite a happening event with an impressive community response. The Medford Cruise quickly grew into such a large event that the Medford Cruise Association (MCA) was formed to manage it. The MCA board is comprised of local business people who are dedicated to putting on a stellar community event.
In its 38 years, the Medford Cruise has developed to include events that entice all ages throughout the region. It’s truly not-to-be-missed on the car cruise circuit with fun and free or inexpensive events throughout the week.
And even though it has advanced to include drag racing, drift events, poker runs, all model cars Show ‘N Shines, parties, movies in the park, and more, it’s still wrapped around one simple idea of cruising downtown Medford.
